Dans cette norme, la section 5-54 traite des mises \u00e0 la terre en d\u00e9taillant, \u00a0entre autres choses, les mat\u00e9riaux et les dimensions des \u00e9lectrodes et des conducteurs avec lesquels elles sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9es. Cette norme sp\u00e9cifie que l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur de la couche de cuivre qui recouvre les piquets en acier doit \u00eatre d\u2019au moins 250 microns comme cela est \u00e9galement exig\u00e9 dans les normes de protection contre la foudre.<\/p>\n<p>La norme admet une exception : cette \u00e9paisseur peut \u00eatre r\u00e9duite \u00e0 pas moins de 100 \u00b5m dans les cas o\u00f9 des pr\u00e9cautions sp\u00e9ciales sont prises pour emp\u00eacher tout dommage m\u00e9canique du cuivre pendant l&rsquo;installation. C&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire que si les piquets ont un rev\u00eatement de moins de 250 microns, ils doivent \u00eatre install\u00e9s toujours avec un orifice d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 de\u00a0 plus grande taille que le piquet, de telle sorte que le rev\u00eatement de cuivre ne soit pas endommag\u00e9 pendant l\u2019enfoncement. Puis, l\u2019orifice devra \u00eatre rempli avec un compos\u00e9 de type bentonite pour assurer un bon contact de l\u2019\u00e9lectrode avec la terre. Tout ce processus rend l\u2019installation plus couteuse et augmente les possibilit\u00e9s de mauvais contact avec la terre et le risque de corrosion de l\u2019\u00e9lectrode.<\/p>\n<p><a
