Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. has completed the construction of an industrial building to increase its production, storage and logistics capacity. These new facilities, measuring 4,734 square metres, have been built under strict energy efficiency criteria, by the company’s sustainable growth plan.
The new production and logistics facilities of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. are located in the Polígono Industrial de la Andana, in Paterna, on a plot of 5,403 m2 sited at Avenida de la Industria, 32. This site is directly connected to the main road transport routes and Valencia International Airport. The work was carried out by IKS, the construction and engineering services company of the INMOKING real estate group.
The warehouse consists of two floors, with a ground floor of 3,154 m2 for storage and a production area divided into different compartments and 100.75 m2 of offices. The first floor, on the other hand, has 1,379 m2 also for the production department and 100.75 m2 of office space. With these new facilities, the space at the headquarters, located at the Parque Tecnológico de Valencia, is extended for the R&D, Administration, Sales, Marketing, Design and IT and Systems departments.
For the planning and execution of these new facilities, a detailed study of the industrial process was carried out to optimise all its stages: reception of raw materials and semi-finished products, manufacture of the final product, storage and dispatch of the goods. In addition, all the departments were involved in the process to include the needs of each team in the final design before construction began.
Production, warehouse and distribution: more capacity for better service
The first floor houses the Production area, which consists of three areas:
- Manufacture of products with electronic circuits, for which new Europlacer machinery has been purchased for the SMD production line with AOI.
- Manufacture and assemble metal-mechanical products.
- Manufacture of dosimeters.
These rooms are fully air-conditioned, with PIR panel enclosure and false ceiling to generate the clean environment required for the manufacture and handling of sensitive components. There is also a separate area for sorting and recycling to comply with the circular waste processing process.
On the ground floor, the new warehouse almost doubles the current storage capacity, improving stocking, the speed of response to orders and the rotation of goods.
Also on the ground floor are the exothermic welding manufacturing facilities, which are three times larger than the current ones. In addition, new machinery has been acquired, which will increase production volume.
These facilities are distinguished by the implementation of air extraction and atmosphere control systems to avoid the presence of dust in other parts of the building, as well as a new quality control laboratory.
Both floors are connected by stairs and a 3,000 kg forklift for goods and production.
Lighting, connectivity and comfort
The new Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. warehouse combines a natural and artificial lighting system designed to achieve lighting comfort and optimisation of energy expenditure.
Regarding connectivity, it has its server, rack and high-speed Wi-Fi system that covers the entire warehouse. In addition, it is linked by an antenna to the headquarters to allow the necessary flow of information between the two sites.
For the convenience of the workers, the new facilities also have changing rooms, a canteen, a communal recreation area and an indoor car park.
Sustainability: solar energy and EV chargers
The construction of the new production and logistics centre of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. has been carried out under energy efficiency and sustainability criteria, thus certifying the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and renewable energies.
The warehouse roof houses an installation of photovoltaic panels with a power of 125.96 kW made by the company Solar Express Energía. In addition, for electric and hybrid vehicles, these new facilities are equipped with EV car chargers.
