This week the Technical Congress of the National Committee of CIGRE 2018 is talking week in Madrid. For two days, 27th and 28th of November 2018, companies and public and private organizations present their experiences with the objective of improving the high voltage power distribution.
In these Technical Seminars of CIGRE, the main experts in the sector share their knowledge and present their ideas and projects that improve the systems and management of power distribution. This year, the Seminars focus on two big areas: Sustainable Management of Assets and the Network of the future.
In the first of these subjects, the Sustainable Management of Assets, experts share different recommendations for reducing carbon footprint in high voltage power distribution in order to minimize its environmental impact.
In the second area, the Network of the Future, companies present their innovative ideas in which new technologies are key to improve the distribution, as Smart Grids, Cybersecurity or IoT (Internet of Things).

CIGRE is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization. Since 1921, the year of its creation in France, it gathers the main players in the high voltage power distribution to facilitate the exchange of ideas and technical knowledge.
In this sense, utility companies, manufacturers of electrical capital goods, engineering and research centres from all the world are periodically gathered in different forums to share advances and researches.
