Soils that are near the sea are usually sandy and therefore with a high resistivity. The grounding enhancing products of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. have obtained low earth resistances at the Port of Valencia
The soil around the Port of Valencia (Spain) is silica sand, a material with a resistivity between 200 and 3000 ohms·m. It is therefore very difficult to obtain a resistance lower than 10 ohms even if a large number of buried electrodes is employed. Furthermore, the soil has got a high salt concentration that may accelerate the corrosion of some conductors.
Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. offers for such cases special electrodes and soil conductivity enhancing products. Among the first ones outstand the dynamic electrodes APLIROD, able even of lowering the resistance of the earthing along the time. For improving the soil conductivity we recommend the gel CONDUCTIVER PLUS, the conductive cement APLICEM and the compound APLIFILL for filling boreholes.
Using a combination of those elements, Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. ha achieved an appropriated resistance of the earthing system performed for facilities placed in the Port of Valencia, with minimum civil works and using corrosion-resistant conductors.
