Verónica Palomar, deputy director of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, has been appointed President of the CTN 207/SC 81 committee of the Spanish Association for Standardisation (UNE). This committee is responsible for drafting and monitoring lightning protection standards in Spain.
The CTN 207/SC 81 of the UNE is the representation of Spain towards the technical committee 81 for both the CENELEC (European committee) and the IEC, the group of international experts of the International Electrotechnical Commission dedicated to lightning protections. UNE WG-81 comments and votes on the proposals of the international group. It also drafts and monitors national standards, such as the UNE21186: “Early streamer emission lightning protection systems“.
